Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela has revealed that YouTuber and reality show TV star Lasizwe Dambuza is going to grace your screens very soon on Durban Gen. This is rather unexpected considering that he is not an actor and hasn’t portrayed any interests in persuing a career as one. There’s a lot of people that have voiced out their complaints about these “gatekeeper” tendencies.

Most of you know Lasizwe from his famous YouTube channel that has thousands of subscribers across the globe. MTV also jumped into that bandwagon a couple of years ago to shoot a reality TV show that portrayed the entertainers daily life, including some controversial topics. Most recently he has started a new feature on his show titled “Drink or tell the truth” Which had the likes of Khanyi Mbau, Major League Djs and so much more.

OPINION

There are a well rounded film graduates and talented people that are sitting at home and awaiting such opportunities. According to my me I think this role should have been given to such individuals not someone that is already exposed to the industry. If we keep on doing things like this it’s going to be an overlooked career path. But i guess the production company is thinking of pumping its views, considering that people already love him.
