Many social media users have wondered how she was managing to fund the trip — a question which was answered by an X user who revealed that she actually gets paid to support SA sports teams.

A fact that was confirmed by IOL who reported that her trip to France this year was in fact sponsored by the Department of Sport and the SA Rugby Union.

“I was today years old when I found out that these two are paid by the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture to go and be supporters in the stands. I’m not joking, they are paid by taxpayers to go to sporting events across the world to “represent” South Africa,” he wrote about Mama Joy and Botha.
