Mzansi’s celebrity remembers late friend and former partner in music

It is today the birthday of the late Lebo Mathosa, a South African musician that lost her life at age 29 after being involved in a car accident.

Her friend and former music partner being Thembi Seete, who sang with her under the Boomshaka music group took to social media remembering and sending her a birthday message while in heaven.

thembiseete_ on Instagram posted their picture together and said “I wish i could wrap my arms around you one last time Lebo..I love you,i hope you okay, I misss you so much. Happy birthday up in Heaven.Madibuseng,DramaQueen,Nomvula”.

Thembi Seete and Lebo Mathosa together with Junior Sokhela and Theo Nhlengethwa under the Boomshaka music group. Together,they have produced and released songs such as It’s about time,Thobela,Lerato Lee and Gcwala.They were most popular in the 1990’s but their music is still loved and played by many up to this day.


 

 

 

 

Lebo Mathosa was born in the East Rand. Her music career began while she was still a kid. At the age of seven,she had already started and was singing at a local church. She became a producer seven years later at the age of 14 years.

As a singer, Lebo Mathosa was discovered by Don Laka who led her to the Boomshaka group whereby she joined Thembi Seete,Junior Sokhela and Theo Nhlengethwa as singers and dancers.Mathosa created a name for herself while singing under the group then decided on singing solo.

Her first album after going solo was titled Dream and made it to the list of top best albums within weeks of it’s release.Mathosa was recognized and awarded for best dance album and best female vocalist through her album “Dream”.

Her next album was titled “Drama Queen” and she was also awarded for the hard work done through her second album.Lebo Mathosa was not only in the music side of the entertainment industry but also in the film and television side as she was once appeared on Muvhango.
