There has been a great deal of progress since the days when young people were reluctant or even afraid to pursue the sangoma profession. A common misconception is that onlyshould perform the sangoma summoning and that children aren’t mature enough to take part in the ritual. They were young children when the call came, and many of them felt ashamed that they had answered it. The word “sangomas” has been stigmatized as being derogatory. They were afraid that if they accepted the Calling, their friends would reject them. These days, it’s not uncommon for twentysomethings to answer the call to become sangomas.
Many people don’t understand why so many young men and women are choosing to become sangomas.

Well-known figures in South African culture are increasingly adopting sangoma ways of living (single mother). The stigma and shame associated with being a Sangoma no longer exist for today’s youth in South Africa. Celebrities have much to teach the public about the importance of being oneself and not being afraid to express it.
2. Lvovo
Some younger generations falsely believed that only the elderly were capable of sangoma calling due to a lack of exposure to or understanding of the practice. Fortunately, this is no longer the case. When they were younger, some kids refused to follow in their parents’ footsteps and become terrifying witch doctors. Some teenagers are uncomfortable when addressed as “Sangomas.” Because of this, Sangomas are categorised as non-Christians.
Two skeemSaam actors and actresses have been invited to perform for Sangomas in South Africa.
Eunice from SkemSaam,
In response to a request for her services, Eunice, formerly known as Oratile Maitisa, has agreed to work for the Sangoma. When she said it, the young Sangoma woman said it with great pride.
4 Next, I’d like to tell you about Celia Kunutu.
Her full name is Celia Kunutu. Shoki Mmola is her given name, and she too has answered the call to join the Sangoma tribe. Despite the fact that she was a famous person, she took the call.
5. Emkay from skeemSaam
Emkay’s given name is Mlungisi Mathe, but he is more commonly referred to by his Sangoma name.
Kelly Khumalo is the sixth.
