In his response, Musa Mseleku stated that they spend at least R30,000 on food alone, and he described how he sends money to his women. Musa asserts that he supports equality in his household, and that everyone contributes financially to the family’s daily survival. Musa discusses how the amount of money he pays each wife for food differs and explains how he arrives at these values.

He continues by stating that because each wife has a varied number of children, it would be unfair to give them all the same amount. This is because a parent with more children would require more loaves of bread than a parent without children. In addition, he does not buy in bulk for all of his women because they prefer different brands, so he allows them to purchase what they desire to avoid problems.
