Mphowabadimo is the winner of season 3 of Big Brother Mzansi. Her historic win has likely set a new precedents in terms of the show which will impact how it goes in the future. However people are NOT pleased with her after a clip of an interview surfaced.
Her opinions were quite controversial and had tongues wagging.
Mpho had a media run after her stay in the house and was constantly doing interviews about the experience and how it felt to win. However, with this interview in specific, she discussed her standards in relationship.
In summary,in this video, she claimed that men don’t need to have everything together or even have money. She’s looking for someone to build with and that if her father couldn’t do it, she won’t expect it from a boyfriend. It was a… deeply personal take to say the least.
Twitter did NOT take kindly to this and “Bob The Builder” accusations were flying around. It was understandable honestly. The idea of women building men sounds a little too “pick me” even for my taste. It sounded like the talented sangoma was implying that the only worthwhile relationships are ones with broken men and anything else had gold digger overtones. This obviously isn’t true.
Social Media Response
One user wrote, “Bob the builder 😒” in response to the video.
While another user questioned, “Please man, in your right mind why the hell would you even be with a man who doesn’t know how to take care of himself?? ðŸ˜ðŸ¥´”
A final and shady user wrote, “Phela (Well) she has millions that’s why she wants to build”
I have to say that Mpho was speaking of her own experience here and not about anyone else. If she doesn’t mind dating a man without means, surely we cannot begrudge her that. Personally, I wouldnt encourage anyone to build with a broken man or one without ambition. It’s all about preference at the end of the day.
