Moana’s Family In Feud Over Her Body The Socialite’s burial has taken a sad knock

It hasn’t been long since she passed on but her life is already clouded with drama, according to Tatenda Amuli who is Mitchelle “Moana” Amuli’s sister, has stated that the two sides to Moana’s family cannot seem to see eye-to-eye regarding her burial. Moana’s families haven’t been able to put their differences aside and facilitate a good burial for her, the father’s side of the family is reported to be fighting for superiority in the arrangement of burial plans, much to the dismay of the mother’s side. The socialite’s father a day after her death revealed that he had separated from Moana’s mother when Moana was still a toddler. He also hadn’t seen Moana in nearly over a year.

Moana’s already concluded burial plans had to be replanned recently after a relative from her paternal side decided to halt the issuing of the burial order. Despite the father not being present in her life that much, after it emerged that he separated from Moana’s mother when Moana was still a toddler. The father argued that, as the father, he had a right to be involved in the whole process including DNA tests that were conducted without his prior knowledge, despite haven’t seen Moana a year ago.

In a blunt interview, one of Moana’s relatives on the paternal side said the other side of the family were trying to steal Moana. In a statement, she said.

“They wanted to take our daughter without our knowledge, because of social media they were showing their stupidity and we found out through our relatives what they were doing and so we poured sand on it (Spoilt their plans).”

In a previous interview Mitchelle ‘Moana’ Amuli’s father had said this about his relationship with his daughter:

“In 2017, Mitchelle had problems with her husband, who came to drop their child in Domboshava. Mitchelle later came to pick her daughter and I sat down with her, telling her that I wasn’t happy with her behaviour. I heard a lot about my daughter that she had become a party animal and was featured in several music videos. I got angry and slapped her twice and she left home for good.

“Last year I saw her, but we never talked much. I am a Muslim and what she was doing was against our religion. Now how do I tell my elders at church and how will she be buried? We are now at her mother’s house in Highfield because I did not fully pay lobola for her mother. I still owe in-laws, but that is a story for another day”

Moana including the other victims that were involved in the horrific accident was so badly burnt beyond recognition that their funerals had to be halted in order for proper DNA tests to be conducted. Ginimbi, the famous socialite was the only victim that was identifiable in the horrific crash because he was hurled out of the car upon impact and his remains were intact. The other occupants of the cars, Mitchelle ‘Moana’ Amuli, Lumumba Karim Cazal and Alichia Adams were finally concluded over the past few days and released to the CID Forensic department by the National University of Science and Technology’s (NUST) Applied Genetic Testing Center.

Ginimbi was laid to rest on Saturday, the 14th of November but his friends couldn’t be buried with the same dignity, thanks to DNA collected from the other 3 occupants. Tatenda, the younger sister of the late socialite and brand ambassador posted the following emotional message on her Instagram:

“Michelle Amuli a socialite/fitness trainer affectionately known as Moana will be laid to rest on Thursday, 19 November 2020

She died in the early hours of 8 November 2020 after attending her birthday party together with Ginimbi and 2 foreign friends. The Rolls Royce they were travelling in collided with a Honda Fit along Borrowdale Road, in Harare, Zimbabwe.

She was just starting off her public profile and was a promising video actress, model, fitness trainer, socialite. Her life was cut off prematurely before she reached her full potential. A great LOSS. She will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Moana, you are irreplaceable. A truly wonderful human being, our Beautiful Beast”
