Mnakwethu: MaShelembe and Her Family Demand Their Promised R50 000 Each From Musa Mseleku’s Reality Show

MaShelembe has resurfaced in the news. The woman and her family are suing Mnakwethu producers for unpaid wages. They were allegedly promised R50 000 to share their story on the polygamy reality show, but they were never paid.

MaShelembe, who went viral after KwaZulu-Natal ladies threw her a beautiful baby shower, revealed that she is not happy. She complained that Musa Mseleku’s show exposed her life on national television, but she “gained nothing but stress.”

She admitted that appearing on the show had made her life more difficult. MaShelembe claims she can’t even afford to buy food and diapers for her baby.

According to MaShelembe’s husband, he and his two wives were promised R50 000 each, but he only received R12 000 up front. He claims he has not received the remainder of his funds. His new wife MaSithole added that while the show made a lot of money from their episodes, they received nothing.

Mashelembe, who trended across all social media platforms as a result of her emotional outburst, claims she lives in poverty and can barely afford to buy nappies and basic baby toiletries. Despite the fact that she received a lavish baby shower from her supporters.

“I don’t understand why I never received the money because I had an agreement with them. I am not happy because my life was exposed for all to see, but in the end I gained nothing but stress. My life has become harder, I’m [even] struggling to buy food and nappies for the baby,” MaShelembe said.

Her sister wife is upset that their lives were exposed without compensation.

“I was also suspicious when they took all the paperwork with them. I have no doubt that they made a lot of money through our own episodes, but we gained nothing from it.”
