The day coach Benni McCarthy received notes of gratitude from people he inspired during his days as a great footballer was a moving one for him and the fans of his old team, Amazulu.

Many young people remember Benni McCarty for his excellent coaching of the Amazulu team, which took them all the way to the continental caf competition. For the older fans of the game in South Africa, however, he will always be remembered as a national hero for his achievements on the field, which include a Champions League title with Porto.

When asked to name people who have inspired them, South Africans flocked to coach Benni McCarty with bouquets after reading about him in the most recent issue of Huawei.
