If you were a child of the early 1990s or later, you most likely heard of or even saw the contentious TV show Yizo-Yizo.
From 1999 to 2004, this South African series aired on SABC 1. It undoubtedly caused a sensation since some people thought it wasn’t educational, while others wanted it to go on because they thought it captured the reality of life for many South Africans living in townships.
In any case, Bonginkosi “Zola 7” wouldn’t have existed if it weren’t for the part of Papa Action in season 2 of the series, which established it as one of South Africa’s finest drama TV shows.

Supatsela High, a made-up institution in Daveyton, Johannesburg, served as the setting for the TV show.
The school’s autocratic principal, Mr. Mthembu, is expelled in the first season after abusing a student. Prior to being succeeded by Grace Letsatsi, who works with the school community to restore the school and drive out the criminal elements, his successor Ken Mokoena was weak and corrupt and allowed the school to be taken over by gangs.
