She married Zuma in 2008. However in 2016 The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) made the decision to prosecute her based in allegations of Zuma’s poisoning. It was alleged she was involved in a plot to poison her husband in 2014. Her lawyers said charges were brought against her without any real evidence. She later shared she was no longer allowed to enter Zuma ‘s home and also didn’t get any financial support from him.

Thobeka Madiba-Zuma, filed for divorce a few years ago. She reportedly filed documents with the Pietermaritzburg High Court to end her customary marriage to the former president. The pair married in 2010 and officially separated in 2020 after she was allegedly banned from the Zuma compound after she was accused of taking his mobile phone sim cards without his permission while he was undergoing treatment in Cuba.

The reality TV star and host has a son with the former president. A few years ago, she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Durban along with five other women, introducing audiences to the lifestyles of the rich and famous in Durban. She first made headlines in 2018 when news broke that she was engaged to Zuma and set to become his fifth wife. What raised concern was the age gap, as she was 24 and Zuma was 76. It is unclear when their engagement ended. Nonkanyiso has now moved on, she shared on the Real housewives of Durban.
