Popular radio personality Kedebone Mkhabela is her aunt. Kedebone is also a TV personality, dancer, singer and fashion designer. Onalerona attended Greenside High School in Randburg, Gauteng where she excelled in cultural studies and obtained a certificate in Traditional dance.

 

 

 

 

 
She played the lead role in Ispaza sasekhaya, a Mzansi Original Movie in 2021. In the telemovie, which first aired on Mzansi Magic on 3 April 2021, Fats – the unpopular kid at school, impulsively decides to host the biggest party his township has never seen in an attempt to impress the new girl he has a huge crush on.

Later in 2021, Nefisa Mkhabela landed her first starring role in TV when she was cast as Ona Molapo in House of Zwide. The character is a young fashion designer who navigates the world of fashion with her BFF Shoki, played by Shalate Sekhabi in the Etv soapie House of Zwide. Since Ona is quite talented than Faith’s children, Zanele and Nkosi Zwide, Mrs Zwide did not like her.

To complicate things even further, Onalerona Molapo discovers that Faith and Isaac are behind the death of her mother. The funny part is that Onalerona is the biological daughter of Funani while Faith’s children not his flesh and blood.
