Nkosinathi Mankayi, famously known as Nathi, is a South African singer, songwriter and artist. He shot to limelight upon the release of his critically acclaimed song titled “Nomvula” off his triple-platinum debut studio album Buyelekhaya.

Nkosinathi Mankayi was born and raised by a single mother in Mthatha small town in the Eastern cape province, South Africa. He was Interested in music and drawing before he was jailed and sentenced to 8 years in prison for a 2002 robbery related crime. He was released after serving 4 years

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nathi did not look down upon himself but kept working with the aim of pursuing a career in music, he was featured on a song titled “Noma Kanjani” by Vusi Nova, a song that went viral and on to receive massive airplay around South Africa. Nathi started recording his debut studio album titled Buyelekhaya and releasing “Nomvula” as single.
