The character Phumeza is brought to life by 23 year old Tshidi Makitle who happens to have an identical twin. Her sister is not all about the limelight despite the duo having similar physical features. The twins hail from Pinetown in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The beauties despite looking a bit older, were born on the 17th of August. Tshidi and her sister Tshidiso are difficult to tell apart and might switch roles without anyone even noticing.

Although both love acting, Phumeza is the first to get the limelight with her debut role on Durban Gen and she is executing it flawlessly. The pair graduated from University of Zululand with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts. Tshidiso is supportive of her sister bagging a role before her and she has this to say:

I told mom at the beginning of the year that this was going to be our year. So when my sister got this part, I reminded her that I had said that God would make a way for a miracle in our family.

The twins get motivation from their parents although they are divorced. ” Though we do not live with our father, he has never once neglected his responsibilities,” they say.
