May Mahlangu is a rare story, the Secunda born midfielder has made a name for himself on global stages but not much is known about him in his country of birth.

Mahlangu joined the Stars Of Africa Academy at the age of 15 and played for their team Alexandra United between 2006 to 2008.

Mahlangu in the 2008/09 season went to join Helsingborg in the Swedish second division. During his professional career he has played mostly in Europe, plying his football trade in Sweden, Turkey, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.

Mahlangu has continued enjoying success in different leagues in Europe but he has since failed to earn the recognition to be a regular in the South African national team. Outside of his footballing career, Mahlangu is a husband and mostly a father. He is married to Zintle and their union has since been blessed with a daughter Lulonke Nothando Mahlangu, who is four years old.
