Makhadzi is a South African musician who mostly sings in her mother tongue language, Tshivenda. She also sings in other Limpopo languages, including Xitsonga and Sepedi. She was raised by her grandmother after her parents divorced. Furthermore, she is the eldest of three children, counting only her maternal siblings because not much information about her father is known.
In 2021, her song Murahu featuring Mr. Brown became Song of the year in more than seven radio stations. In 2022, her hit Zwivhuya featuring Mr. Brown again became song of the year on Phalaphala Fm. More than 23 000 fans gathered at Makhuvha Stadium to support her one-woman show, mind you, entrance wasn’t free. Makhadzi is the queen she thinks she is.
There is this artist from Venda whose voice was firstly mistaken for Makhadzi. Shonisani Maideledzha well known by her stage name, Mukosi is a musical artist from Ha-Mashamba Mukondeni Tshivhangani. She sings like Makhadzi, and she even stole her hiccups’ signature. The two artists used to beef each other, but thank God they have made peace.
In one of her interviews, Mukosi said Makhadzi is her cousin. People then said it made sense why they fight a lot because Africans believe cousins are like cats and dogs, enemies.
Mukosi is pushing her career to the next level. She is no longer just a local artist because she does go to Botswana to perform. In 2021, she gave us a hit, ‘Bonus’ and she seems to be not loo back.
Mukosi is a mother to a son named Vhugala. Her son graduated from initiation school in July 2022 and when he came back, she released a song for him. She keeps her love-life private and not much is known about who she is dating. Her net worth is yet to be calculated.
