Meet former Generations actor whose mother is from Barbados the home country of Rihanna

Khaya Motene was a character on Generations and it was potrayed by Akim Omotoso. Unfortunately he was born in Nigeria in 1974. His sister Yewande Omotoso was born 1980, in Bridgetown, Barbados and within a year of her birth went with her Barbadian mother, Nigerian father and two older brothers to Nigeria he grew up in Ile Ife, Osun State. He came to South Africa when he was 18 after his father was offered a job lecturer at the University of the Western Cape in 1992. Akim studied at the same University of the Western Cape, his father lectured. He got a diploma in speech and drama.


His mother was from Barbados, the country in the Caribbean Islands where Rihanna is from. His mother died in 2003.

He acted on Queen of Katwe, Wonder Boy for President and directed Director: Tell Me Sweet Something.
