Advocate Teffo and the judge appeared to be at each other’s throats during yesterday’s court hearings, leading some to speculate that a physical altercation would inevitably break out.

After the judge ordered him to take a seat, he protested the proceedings by declaring, “I don’t agree with what’s being stated,” but he eventually complied with the order.

 

 
While some may have considered his actions amusing, the vast majority saw them as rude and unprofessional in a legal setting. We can see where he’s coming from, though, because the courts aren’t exactly following the Book; rather, they’re in a position where they can change the laws on pretty much anyone, which is unfair and frustrating for everyone involved.

However, only criminals behave that way, not advocates, and when the public applauds such behavior, people who know no better are encouraged to continue the criminal behavior. We also observed the Judge’s contempt towards him or criticism of him for pointing out the Judge’s wrongdoing as if he is above the law, and this clearly disturbed the Judge, who stated that he refuses to go to The Chambers to discuss this subject.

They’ve certainly taken an unconventional approach, but he’s brought up some valid points, like the possibility of a second docket in Senzo’s case. Because of the court’s improper jurisdiction and lack of authority, his clients were wrongfully arrested, he filed an objection to the NPA’s two letters dismissing case docket no. 2, and his clients refused to bear the burden.

Advocate Mshololo, on the other hand, is content to wait until next year to deal with the evidence presented by Sergeant Mosia. Despite the fact that her “innocent client” is already behind bars and doesn’t give a hoot about a postponement, I have my doubts that she gave this matter any thought.
