MATRICULANT WITH SEVEN DISTINCTIONS GIFTED BRAND NEW MINI COOPER
A video of the young man’s family celebrating his matric 2023 results went viral.
In the video, the young man is gifted with what is believed to be a brand-new Mini Cooper.

In the video, you can see the young man overcome with emotions as he walks towards the covered car in the garage.
The hashtags with the video indicated that it might be a brand-new Mini Cooper.Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced on Thursday evening that the matric class 2023 achieved a pass rate of 82.9%.

MATRIC RESULTS 2023: HERE ARE THE COUNTRY’S TOP PERFORMERS
Free State retained its top position nationally, with a pass rate of 89.03%.

The national matric pass rate is up by 2.8% from the 80.1% pass rate in 2022.
“I stand here with an immense sense of pride as we host our best learners. And for the year, we presented over 800 000 learners and more than 750 000 were full time learners and to be here, I’m sure it’s unbelievable. Indeed, you’re ahead of the pack in so many ways,”
Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga said.
THE NATIONAL MATRIC PASS RATE IS UP BY 2.8%
A total of 715 719 full-time and 182 056 part-time candidates registered to sit for the 2023 NSC (National Senior Certificate) examinations.
Motshekga and Deputy Minister, Dr Reginah Mhaule, hosted a breakfast for the 2023 matric top achievers at the MTN Innovation Centre in Randburg, Johannesburg.
“I want to congratulate you and say thank you for making us very proud. Is it not so parents? You have made us really proud. For that, we’re really grateful to our children,” Motshekga added.

BEST-PERFORMING DISTRICTS IN SOUTH AFRICA
The Gauteng province is known for producing excellent results and it is no surprise that four of its best-performing districts were among the Top 10 in the country. KwaZulu-Natal which ranked second nationally with 86.4% also has four districts in the list.
