Maskandi artist Mthandeni Manqele refuses to perform for R15 000.

Kwa Zulu Natal born Maskandi artist Mthandeni Manqele also known by his stage name Igcokama Elisha recently left social media users in stitches.

In a shared video on Instagram, Manqele revealed that he was booked to perform at an event and that he was offered R15 000 for the gig.

In the video, Manqele would reveal that the payment was too little and that he would rather buy airtime for his fans. It turns out that Mthandeni was true to his world, in the few days, he went live on Facebook and bought airtime vouchers for his fans.

 

For two consecutive days in the evening Manqele shared airtime vouchers to his fans ranging between R12 and R30 depending on the network provider. Mthandeni is known as the King of Maskandi to his followers known as ‘Red Nations’.

Manqele rose to prominence in 2009 and over the years he has continued delivering hit songs that has won the hearts of many. He is famously known for hit songs such as activism, xenophobia and malavisto.
