When we look into the PSL, Mamelodi Sundowns are probably the boss of the transfer market, followed by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. However, a new team in the form of Royal AM led by wealthy businesswoman Shaun Mkhize have raised their hand, recruiting some of the biggest names to their team.
Having the likes of former Orlando Pirates and Swallows wing back Thabo Matlaba and former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Elias Pelembe, their latest acquisition was Ricardo Nascimento who hails from Brazil and was in the books of Mamelodi Sundowns who introduced him to South African football.
The 35 years old defender joined Royal AM on a free transfer after his unexpected Sundowns exit, catching a lot of people by surprise. The Brazilian has now revealed that the offer the club made to him was good enough for him to join the KZN club.
“The negotiations with Royal AM were so fast and easy. As soon as were done with the financial part, which is the most important part, I realized she wanted me to play for Royal AM. This was important for me. The proposal from Royal AM was too good I was even surprised, ” explained Nascimento.
Nascimento’s influence at the club is surely paying off as Royal AM sit in second place with four games to go, paving their way to CAF Champions League qualification for next season.
