Makhadzi’s heritage celebration was one of its kind

As a South African, what does heritage day day means to you? Many people might have different meaning for this day, but at the end of the day, it is about embracing who you are and were you come from. Such passion displayed by Makhadzi can never go unnoticed.

Some people believe that heritage day should mean a lot more than it does at the current moment. It can’t just be about about wearing traditional attires and eating African foods. It has to means a lot more.

Makhadzi has embraced all South African cultures in style on heritage day. This was one of its kind, celebration that we have never seen before. Such passion displayed by Makhadzi can never go unnoticed. She has gone all out to ensure that we all remember who we are and were we come from. It is not everyday were you finds someone who celebrate their culture and also do the same for other cultures. It is very rare and this is the reason he is being hailed as the African Queen.

Many people have praised her for what she did. We can all learn from her. There is so much tribalism that is heppening on our streets and this was a goods way to try a unite our people.

However, there seems to be people who think that there is something missing. The other two tribes which is the English and the Afrikaans are missing from the picture.

I for one don’t think that that those are missing because their kind of clothes are worn everyday. We celebrate their culture more than we do to our own culture, as we just have to wait for 24 September before celebrating our heritage. What she did is enough and we should stop complaining as people and learn to appreciate.
