Makhadzi seems to be having a bad reputation when it comes to money. Lately it has been money scandal after the other in the queen’s castle. Just a few months ago, the “Matorokisi” hitmaker made headlines for lambasting her former record label Open Mic for owing her money. It turns out Makhadzi has allegedly done to others as it was done to her, refusing to pay producer and event organiser Rabs Vhafuwi a R16 000 that she allegedly owes him. This is after she failed to perform at a musical event in 2022. Vhafuwi’s booking fee was R20 000.
According to Sunday World, even after Vhafuwi publicly appealed to the songbird a month ago, Makhadzi has not made contact or any effort to pay back the money. Valhalla alleged that he had hired Makhadzi to perform at one of his events. However, on the day of the event, Makhadzi allegedly failed to arrive at the gig on the agreed time. She later showed up and apologised to the crowd, stating that she will come back the following weekend, but failed to keep her promise.
Vhafuwi then requested his money back, but only received it in trenches including a R2 000 e-wallet from the singer. He says he is tired of following Makhadzi for the balance, he has come to a point where he has written off the debt. “Makhadzi can keep the money. I don’t have the energy. I have decided to just move away from that,” he told Sunday World.
