Makhadzi, the rising star of South Africa’s vibrant music scene, catapulted to local fame with the release of her hit single Tshanda Vhuya in 2017. Born in Limpopo, Makhadzi quickly became a household name across the nation. Her dynamic stage presence, complemented by her distinctive fashion sense, has made her a true icon in the industry.she and her two younger siblings lived with their mother after her parents split up. She successfully completed her twelfth grade at Mukula Integrated School. Ndivhudzannyi earned her Public Relations qualification and later pursued studies in drama.

CAREER

Makhadzi took her first step into the industry back in 2010 by becoming a dancer with the Makirikiri Musical Group. Her time as a dancer ignited her aspiration to become a singer. As her passion flourished, she gained exposure to studio environments, where she took the initiative to record herself singing. This discovery paved the way for her opportunity to record in the studio.

According to Deezer, she dropped her debut album Shumela Venda in April 2018. So far, she has released several other albums titled, Matorokisi (2019), African Queen (2021) and Pain Ya Jealous (2022).

Makhadzi has also been responsible for several hits including, Milandu Bhe, Ghanama, Murahu, MaGear, Tsini Tsini and Ma Yellowbone. Additionally, her music career has been highlighted in several nominations and awards.

As reported by The Nation, she won the LMAC award for Best Tshivenda hit. Additionally, in 2018, she was a nominee for the TSHIMA awards, in the following categories, Best Tshivenda Dance Artist/Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Tshivenda Song of the Year, and Best Tshivenda Artist of the Year. She was also nominated for the Mzansi Kwaito & House Music Awards for Best Music Video in 2021 and won the Feather Awards for Musician of the Year.
