The maidens accused Nelisiwe Sibiya of involving herself where she is not required.

The Nongoma maidens want to know why Nelisiwe Sibiya is involving herself in their affairs without getting permission from the Royal family. This raised eyebrows when the Durban actress published an article on the media revealing that she is planning to work with the young ladies on teaching them about culture and humanity. The maidens revealed to the media that Sibiya has been seeing them for some time. They said they have seen her on several occasions, now they want to know why she is there and if she was tested and by whom.

 

 

 

 
The maiden wants to know if the King knows that she is working with them and if she was given permission as they take instructions from the King. Sibiya cannot work with the teenagers without the Knowledge of the Royal family. The leader of the Nongoma maidens Mningi Zuma Revealed that she is not taking the matter well and also the mothers that do the checking on the maidens were concerned. They said they have many questions about Sibiya because she has never taken part in a single Reed Festival but she is always seen dressed in maidens costumes and no one knows if she is indeed a maiden.

Sibiya was given a chance to explain and said she has seen the concerns about her wearing the costume and also the complaints by the maidens. She knows that they have raised concerns as to why she was not seen among other maidens to have a check. Since then Sibiya said she stopped where the costume. Sibiya has said that she will abstain from wearing the costume but refused to comment if she is a maiden or not. She believes her popularity is causing all the bullying and she is not in a position to comment about that.

Sibiya said she likes to work with the maidens because she believes these need to be guided on self-improvement. She said it is not about the maidens only but also those that are mothers as life is not over for them because they have children. She further said that she is disappointed that some feel that she is using her popularity to work with the maidens, but those who know her are aware that she loves cultural things and she grew up surrounded by such.
