Mahalia Buchanan was born in South Africa on the 30th of April 1991. Her career as a well-known gospel musician in the country started when she joined Lindelani Mkhize’s choir , Joyous Celebration. Through it many people, even around the world discovered her and she ultimately became their favorite. However, Buchanan has left the group and decided to become a solo artist and form great collaborations with other gospel musicians. She was nominated thrice on the SABC Crown gospel awards for “Best Newcomer” , “Best worship song” and “Best praise song”.

Ever since she became publicly known, non regarding her personal relationships was known, not even through social media. But , she is recently rumored to be engaged, in fact, she posted an entire reel of her engagement on her Instagram page captioned ” I said innit..”. Additionally, a picture with a ring on her finger.
