Speculation has been rife over the years, with recent rumours suggesting actress Ntokozo Mzulwini as the potential fifth wife, a claim Mseleku has since dismissed.

In a twist on his reality show Uthando Nes’thembu, aired on Mzansi Magic on Thursday, 9 May, Mseleku teased viewers by showing his fifth wife without revealing her face.

The introduction has hit a snag, however, as MaCele has refused to meet her until lobola (bride price) has been paid.Mseleku respects an agreement with MaCele that the fifth wife must first be introduced to her, emphasising the importance of not breaking this pact.

The big reveal is scheduled for the upcoming episode on Thursday, 16 May.

Mseleku has also taken traditional steps by burning impepho (incense) to inform his ancestors of his decision to take a fifth wife.

“We’ve reached a conclusion to inform ancestors that I’m going to take wife number five,” Mseleku stated, highlighting the importance of ancestral approval and anticipated reaction from his other wives,” he said.

“Ancestors are the only ones I have to ask permission from, then I must inform MaCele and the other wives.”

He said those who want to go, must go.

Meseleku said he’s aware his fourth wife MaNgwabe might leave him and unsure about MaYeni. However, he knows MaKhumalo will ululate while MaCele will want to see the fifth wife.
