Mabasa receives a portrait from a fan and no it is not from Rasta

The name Rasta usually comes to mind when someone talks about South Africa’s art landscape.

Rasta is well known for his artwork that he shares on social media. It has given him fame as he is now appearing in TV adverts.

Even though his work is widely ridiculed, he has used the ridicules to build a good portfolio for himself.

But the works of an emerging artist have just been promoted by a prominent footballer Tshegofatso Mabasa.

The artwork was done by Elijah Mnisi, who’s worked with SA football legends such as Teko Modise and Siphiwe Tshabalala.

Mabasa thanked the artist for the amazing artwork because of of its uniqueness and smart craft.

Mnisi is well known for using lines to come up with his sketches.

With Mabasa’s work, Mnisi rebirths an older picture to transform it into a thing of contemporary art beauty. Although it is scribble drawing, it somehow doesn’t look as messy or sloppy as a lot of artworks of this nature can be.
