AKA was one proud son! Lynn Forbes took to her Instagram Story to share a touching throwback text message she sent to her son, slain rapper AKA back in 2018 when she hiked Mount Kilimanjaro. In the text, Lynn let her son know she is safe after hiking to Africa’s highest peak.

 

 

AKA replied “wow” and shared the text on his Instagram. Take a look…Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, was shot dead outside of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road, Durban on 10 February along with his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

Back in 2018, Lynn was apart of the annual #Trek4Mandela team that climbed up the mountain to raise funds for sanitary pads for underprivileged girls.

“I had just turned 50 and this was such a spiritual climb for me. 3 days later, on Mandela Day I reached Uhuru Peal, the summit and hugest point on the African continent. Kilimanjaro taught me humility, patience and gratitude … she showed me how truly small I really am,” she wrote in July this year.
