The entertainment fraternity is in mourning again following the passing of the co-founder of Mzansi’s iconic streetwear label Loxion Kulća, Wandi “DJ 1D” Nzimande.

News of his passing sent shockwaves across social media platforms and messages of condolences are pouring in Kaya FM, a Johannesburg-based radio station, where he worked as a resident DJ confirmed the news of his passing in a statement on social media.
“Wandi was a friend and brother to so many staff members. We will miss his genuine interactions with people in the building and the work ethic he brought into every mix. It has been a real honor working with a cultural icon like him,” said Ncebakazi Manzi, Kaya FM’s Acting Programming Manager.
The DJ had a tremendous career in the entertainment industry and he won the hearts of many people with his passion for storytelling. His latest project was on SABC 1’s Evolution of Mzansi Street Culture.Cassper Nyovest paid tribute to him and said he always motivated everyone. “@Dj1D what a legend.. grootman laka. Always had something nice to say, something motivating. Thank you for showing us that it’s possible. For showing us that local is not only lekker but it superior. Rest in peace Bra Wandi.”TV stars including Euphonik, Sizwe Dhlomo, and Maps Maponyane also reacted to the news of his passing and extended their condolences to his family. In other news, gospel star Israel Mosehla also passed on recently. According to Sowetan Live, the musician died “after battling hypertension that eventually led to heart failure.”
Another star who died this week is legendary actress Lindiwe Ndlovu. The TV star passed on at her home on Monday morning. Her family confirmed her passing through a statement. “It is with heavy hearts and unimaginable sadness that we bring you the news of Lindiwe Thembeka Ndlovu passing in her home this morning 11th January,” reads the statement.
The family did not reveal the circumstances surrounding her cause of death but they have described her as an unsung incredible actress who lived a huge space in the creative world of acting.
“Her bright, large burning light has gone out and we are devastated to bring you this sad news. To us Lindiwe was family but to many, she was so much more,” said her family.
