It is almost seven months since the popular South African musician and hitmaker, DJ Sumbody (Oupa John Sefoka), died in a hail of bullets in November last year in the streets of Johannesburg. DJ Sumbody’s untimely death shocked many people and his murder remains a mystery as his killers are still unknown.
His celebrity friend and business partner Cassper Nyovest has yesterday remembered the slain musician. Cassper shared a video of the late musician wearing a flamboyant white suit, flexing with his expensive watch. DJ Sumbody was known for his good taste in fashion and displaying a lavish lifestyle.
“Happy heavenly birthday, twin. Miss you so much. Love you forever.” Cassper Nyovest said as he shared the video.
Nyovest made some good music with DJ Sumbody and they seem to have lived closer to each other. The video he shared is a sign of the good memories that the pair have created. One of their hit songs, “Monate mpolaye” was popular and leading charts in the amapiano music genre.
People reacted to Cassper’s video and message as they came across his post. Some indicated that they are apparently left humbled by his gesture and wished for the spirit of the late musician to continue resting in peace.
Oupa Sefoka’s death was undoubtedly a loss of talent in the South African music industry. It is interesting to see that his friend has not yet forgotten about him, and he remembers his birthday. Sometimes when people die, we forget about them as time goes by. May he continue to rest in peace.
