He revealed that the Hip Hop sensation was not on the list because he was not a lyricist. His sentiments saw him having a backlash, seemingly forcing him to apologise.

His post undoubtedly saw thousands of fans flooding his social media platforms, taking a swipe at him for disrespecting Okmalumkoolkat. The DJ realised his statement was offensive, and he apologised.

The DJ wrote: “I respect @okmalumkoolkat profusely. He is one of the greatest to ever do it. I’ve apologised about my statement to him directly, and we have addressed the situation.”

“I won’t be replying to each and everyone about this matter any further. Lesson learned: we need to narrate and document our culture accurately to avoid confusion and misinformation in future.”
