Thuso Mbedu (30) was raised by her grandmother after her mother, Gladness, died of a brain tumor when she was four years old.

 

 

 

 

 

Education

She laid the groundwork for her academic career at Pelham Primary School. She continued her studies at Pietermaritzburg Girls High School.

She enrolled at the University of Witwatersrand when she was 18 years old. She studied Physical Theatre and Performing Arts Management at the university. She earned an honors degree from Wits University in 2013.

She completed a two-month training program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City in 2012.

The actress’s reputation has grown as a result of her appearances in several television soap operas.
