Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known professionally as AKA, was a South African rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, Forbes gained recognition after releasing his single Victory Lap from his debut studio album, Altar Ego.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AKA was dating producer DJ Zinhle and couple have a daughter named Kairo, born on 8 July 2015. He later dated television presenter Bonang Matheba and they broke up on December 2017.

At the time of his death the star was in a serious relationship with rapper Nadia Nakai.

On CCTV footage, a man wearing a white sweater and hat can be seen crossing the road and walking towards AKA and then firing two shots to the rapper’s head, killing him instantly. AKA was killed along with his long time friend Tebello Tibz Motsoane.

Investigations into the death of the late rapper Kiernan AKA Forbes are continuing as details around his death come to light.
