Musician Babes Wodumo has not been the same since losing her husband Mampintsha, real name Mandla Maphumulo, almost a year ago.
The Wololo hitmaker, who shares one child with the late Big Nuz member, has been opening up and expressing her pain to her fans on Instagram.
BABES WODUMO ON HOW SHE REACTED TO MAMPINTSHA’S PASSING
At the weekend, Babes shared her heartbreaking reaction to the news of Mampintsha’s death.
“When I arrived [at the hospital] they had covered him with something white that had a zip,” Babes said as she wiped the tears from her face.
“I said to them ‘my man can’t breathe,’ they unzipped the cadaver bag.”
Babes shared that Mampintsha, who succumbed to a stroke on 24 December, used to tell her that she should take a picture of him should he pass away first. She said she told him to do the same should she pass before him.
“I was there, feeling like I’m losing my mind. My sister was there, Icebolethu Funerals was also there. I slept for two hours… For two hours I laid on his chest.
“after two hours, they took him. I left with them and I kept telling them ‘you’re hurting him’. I was not in the right state of mind. I kept looking for cameras, thinking it was all just a prank,” she said.
“It feels great to be getting back into the swing of things again. I had my time to grieve properly, so I’m just so excited.
“It’s been different without my Mampintsha. I had to learn to make decisions on my own. Before I used to make decisions with Mampintsha, so I’m doing everything on my own with the help of my team, but all is well,” Babes said.
