Lady Du Gives Sad Farewell to Mpura That Leaves Social Media in Tears

Mpura, the Amapiano star, was laid to rest on Tuesday after his family and friends spent the day celebrating his life and paying their final goodbyes.

 

 

 

 
Those closest to the celebrity gathered at the Protea South Hall in Soweto, Johannesburg, for a burial ceremony to reminisce on his life after he died in a horrific vehicle accident on August 7 at the age of 26.

Robot Boii, Mpura’s close buddy, was the program director. Friends and relatives praised the hitmaker’s youthful attitude, successful career in the music and fashion industries, as well as his love and flare for fashion with his own label, Mpura Designs.

When DJ Lady Du entered the stage to talk about Mpura, there was not a dry eye in the house or online.Lady Du, a teary-eyed close friend, told stories of her time in the studio with Mpura and how he encouraged her to express herself through song when she was at her lowest.

Lady Du’s brief delivery of Umsebenzi Wethu, however, left many Mpura supporters in tears who were watching the ceremony from afar.Lady Du informed Mpura’s mother that her son had made a lasting contribution to music.

“Mpura penned his song Impilo Yase Sandton on the first day he was in the studio. That song is his life narrative, if you guys listen to it. That’s exactly what happened to his mother.

“And mama, I’ll tell you something: your kid chose a profession that will leave you with a legacy. In music, he will continue to exist. Is it possible to celebrate Mpura?

“One individual who gave me the opportunity to work in the studio was Mpura. I wasn’t in a good place at the moment. I informed Mpura that I am unable to sing… ‘Whatever you’re experiencing, you should feel through it in the music,’ Mpura remarked.
