South African Kwaito Star Nomasonto (Mshoza) Maswanganyi came into the entertainment industry at the time where Kwaito was the leading genre in South Africa.
The kwaito Kasi sound was no like other, a bunch of guys came in and created a unique sound that many 80 and 90’s youth related and connected with.
Then came this young dark girl from Zola with the tomboy looks and her amazing dancing skills to take over a male dominated industry by storm.
The Kortes hitmaker we knew changed as she got older. She dropped the tomboy look for a much classier and stylish look. Which came as a shock at the time.
This was when she had just gotten married to her ex husband and the father of her two kids Jacob Mnisi. This is when she started to change her appearance.
She had come out to say that she had dropped the tomboy look and that she didn’t feel beautiful in her dark skin and so she bleached her skin.
This was before Khanyi Mbau and other celebrities opened up about their plastic surgery that they have done so far in their lives.
Mshoza came out to say that she was now a wife and a mother and that she was no longer the girl we knew all those years ago when she was wearing All Star sneakers.
The sad news that she had passed away cane as a shock as it was untimely. What’s sad is that she leaves two beautiful young children behind.
For the most part except for a few snaps on her social media platforms, she has been keeping them to herself for the most part.
Mshoza kids are soo young. She left behind her daughter, Pride (11), and her son, Jacob Junior (9). No child deserves to bury their parents at such a young age.
At the moment the family is still preparing a media statement as they too have only heard about her passing in the morning. In the meantime they ask for privacy.
This would mean that they ask that they be given space and in due time they will reveal more about her death and her burial.
In the meantime her kids should also be given space as they’re still very young and this news is very upsetting.
Loosing a parent is never easy. Mshoza was raising the kids with their father even though they had divorced. Even though they still have their father, nothing can replace a mother’s place in their lives.
