In the song, Koffi paid homage to Zimbabwean businesswoman Zodwa Mkandla. In the song Koffi Olomide goes “Zodwa in Harare” making this a major shout out because usually Koffi sings about football players and titans in the industry, but the businesswoman was celebrated for simply being the best.

Mzansi’s Zodwa Wabantu first assumed that Koffi was talking about her and she had made an Instagram post thanking him for it. Much to her surprise her fans alerted her in the comments saying it was actually the Zimbabwean Zodwa, Koffi was referring to. She then deleted the post but then again technology reigned supreme, people took screenshots and are making a mockery out of her.

The song features a blend of Koffi Olomide typical style of rhumba singing combined with Diamond’s East African flavour. If a person is mentioned in a song such as these, that means they are placed under the highest honour.

In the days after Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure’s death, many were saying it was Zodwa Mkandla who gave Ginimbi his first big break and he owed a lot of his success to her.
