Regina Nesengani has been a household name for many years now as she held her role as Vho Masindi on Muvhango. The veteran actress has shown us talent portraying Azwindini’s mother in the series. She is the character that most fans would love to hate as she spoils her grown son and let him get away with everything, even bad things.
Muvhango producers Word of Mouth is known to be big on education as they employ actors with degrees, so it’s not surprising that their cast is made up of qualified actors. The fans were not expecting who the most qualified was, and we were stunned to find that Regina Nesengani was one of the oldest cast members. It did not come as a surprise to some, as she made headlines when she obtained her highest level of qualification.

Regina kept pursuing her education and never stopped learning; her sweat paid off when she finally got her PhD at the age of 65. The actress has written her dissertation on Gender-Based Violence, which she wrote in her native language Venda. The whole cast celebrated the actress, and they had a function where they came wearing their graduation gowns.

The actress hails from Limpopo Province and is of the Venda tribe. She was born on 6 February 1954 and grew up in the Limpopo Province, where she lived with her family.

In college, she pursued a qualification in teaching, and she even practised for years before the acting bug caught her. Regina found out she enjoyed acting and then left her career to pursue her passion. The actress landed her role on Muvhango and has been on the soapie for more than a decade.
Before her big break on Muvhango, Regina landed a couple of jobs doing commercials and telling stories on the Radio. On the side, the actress was also performing in Theatre as an actress. All this time, she was teaching on the side, but she later retired in 2014 and continued pursuing acting solely.
Regina has made a vow to be on Muvhango till she retires and has no plans to join other productions. She is grateful to the show producers for making her dream of being an actress a reality.
