ACTRESS and comedian Lebohang Lettie Mpyana’s life was celebrated on Wednesday, 8 November.

The memorial service took place at the Joburg Theatre.

Media personality Bujy Bikwa emceed the service. Some stars who attended the service include Nozuko, Hamilton Dlamini, Luyanda Shezi, Obet “Ringo” Baloyi, and Chrispan Nyathi.

Lebohang’s family listened to speaker after speaker as the actress’ life was celebrated.Actress Dawn Thandeka King said Lebohang was creative on set.

She said they used to act on the same script, but she could not understand her language, Pedi, as Dawn spoke Zulu, but they managed to execute it so well.

“I don’t know how we did it, but we will always get it right. She was gifted, and I’m grateful that I have experienced her in my life,” she said.

The actress said she learnt a lot from Lebohang through the scenes they played in DiepCity. The founder and director of Black Brain Pictures, Mandla “Mandla M” Ngcongwane, said he has never experienced a loss in this way.

He said Lebohang inspired him and other people around her. Mandla N shed tears together with other actors who came to celebrate her life.

“Lebohang was so creative. She loved her work so much, and I was lucky we met,” he said.

“We lost an incredible actor in this country. I’m so hurt by her death. We will always remember her for her contribution to the production.”

Mandla N said he managed to get her during the Covid-19 pandemic period when he hosted online auditions.
