Khanya Mkhangisa who plays Akhona in one of the famous telenovelas, The Queen has now resumed her acting role following a pause she took earlier this year.

Fans got really excited when Khanya took to her social media (Instagram) to announce the good news where she mentioned that she wanted to wait but couldn’t really hold her herself. She said these words following pictures of her standing next to her prep room with her name on the door.

 

 

 

As this came as a shock to some following questions as to what happend before, many never thought they’d ever see her back on screens (the Queen) after it was allegedly stated that she was fired on the Queen and following a arrest and being charged for drinking and driving which also costed her, her job, this was in May 2019 explains why fans had almost lost hope.

Well as much as that may have happened, i simply believe a character may go through a dead end, and the producers may decide to atleast put a pause rather that terminating the character completely.

The news of Akhona coming back was followed by alot of congratulatory messages, comments, her followers who love her and her work generally. The Queen is a South African telenovela that preimeried on Mzansi Magic on 01 August 2016 and on canal in April 2020. It is owned and produced by the Mzansi’s acting Veterans Connie and the late Shona Ferguson.

It is said she had began her acting career at 14 years of age as a YoTV presenter. For her acting endeavours she’s been seen appearing on Isidingo which played on SABC 3, Shattered, Step Up to Start Up and Harvest now also on the Queen.
