Kelly Khumalo sent a strong message to Sangomas in Mzansi.

Kelly Khumalo, a musician and mother of two, posted to Instagram on August 31 to shame her “tjatjarag” (forward) ancestors and sangomas. Khumalo had already posted a few photos of herself on her Instagram account while dressed in traditional Sangoma garb.

Someone needed to say it, KELLY KHUMALO

In an Instagram video, Kelly Khumalo criticized so-called social media prophets and sangomas. She tagged the article with the following to encourage them to cease their irresponsible use of their talents: “It was necessary for someone to say it. Morning.”

In this song, the performer warns those with special abilities not to have “tjatjarag” ancestors who might divulge clan secrets. She also advises the gogos and mkhulus that if they have a message or vision for someone, they should either contact them directly or use the direct messaging option of social media rather than posting it publicly.

In response to Khumalo’s tweet, her business network and social media followers shared her belief that brilliant individuals should not “show off their skills and pursue clout on social media,” as doing so reveals a lack of gratitude for one’s vocation.

What her fans thought about her post:

“The problem is that Americans generally have little regard for presents. One who understands the protocol does so because they recognize the gravity of the circumstance.

Botlhaleza:

I owe you a debt of gratitude. It was necessary to express this. It is crucial that ministers learn of this.”
