Since the death of the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, Kelly Khumalo’s name has always been dragged into the middle of the conversations around Meyiwa’s death. Many people are usually alleging that the singer was either involved in the murder or she is hiding evidence that could lead to arrest those who killed Meyiwa.

 

 

 
It is very unfortunate that people sometimes turn on each other instead of putting pressure on police. As it stands, Kelly is not even an official suspect in the matter. It would be humane and just for her integrity, if people can stop attacking her on the basis of suspicion.

Apparently one user on Twitter posted, “if you support kelly Khumalo you are disgusting. That women is evil and the senzo meyiwa case proves it. Why did she refuse the police to interview her son after the incident? Was she afraid the son was going to speak the truth?”

The post on its own is already isolating Kelly from the society and further attacks those who support her. It is very judgmental of pinning a crime onto someone who has not even been charged with anything.

Still on attacking Kelly another user come and posted, “If Kelly Khumalo get away with this, after 8 years again, she is one of a devil-protected woman in Africa.” So Kelly is already alleged to be guilty by public opinion without even being a suspect.

Regardless of all the unjustified allegations leveled against Kelly by some people, others are still brave to drag more people in. “Kelly’s mom identifies a wrong person and ordered her neighbor to clean the crime scene. Longwe wrestled two armed people, escaped the crime scene but could not find help at 9pm? We were right about Kelly all along.” Another user posted.
