Kaizer Chiefs have ended yet another season without winning a trophy. The disappointed Amakhosi supporters are hoping to see their side beefing up the squad for a new season. However, it seems like one of their alleged targets has already made up his mind and signed a contract with a different team.

Khanyisa Mayo, whom it was previously claimed that he is eyed by Kaizer Chiefs, has reportedly signed a new contract with Cape Town City until 2028. The Cape Town City star has finished as joint-top scorer with Peter Shalulile in the 2022/23 season with 12 goals.

As a top striker in the PSL, he would have been vital to Amakhosi in the coming season. It is unfortunate for Amakhosi that Mayo has now signed a new contract with City.

Soccer Laduma has previously indicated that, Kaizer Chiefs are understood to have an interest in Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo, but one of the big factors will be the transfer fee. Does the signing of Mayo with Kaizer Chiefs indicate that Amakhosi didn’t have enough fees to afford Mayo?
