Previously, being a sangoma (or traditional healer) was known to be a journey that very few took. However, being a spiritual guide in this way seems to have entered the mainstream with even some of our favourite celebrities being called and answering the call.
However, in the South African entertainment industry, we have a wide number of celebrities who have an ancestral calling, the likes of Boity Thulo, Gogo Maweni and Kelly Khumalo. However yesterday they were joined by a new male Sangoma.
Yesterday, we were introduced to a new industry sangoma, as Phelobala, a well known musician took it to instagram to debut his new career as a traditional healer. This comes a few months after he confirmed that he’s no longer dating Moshe Ndiki and he needs to go home and start over.
However, his picture was then leaked by the president on twitter and went to troll him saying that celebrities are soft hearted and just after a few heartbreaks they think that they are a spiritual calling.
“Celebrities just after a few heart breaks and financial problems they become traditional healers 😭😭,” says the twitter president.
This caused a stir in the comment section, as people went to laugh at Phelobala , saying that he misjudged his depression and anxiety and thought it’s an ancestral calling. However some went to laugh at him saying that he won’t get customers because gay traditional healers can’t be trusted.
