‘Just a girlfriend’: Nadia’s outrage over AKA tribute tees questioned

South African social media users haven’t reacted kindly to Nadia Nakai expressing her anger at clothing brand Amakipkip. This after the apparel company started advertising and selling AKA tribute t-shorts without the permission of the Forbes family. Heading online, the issue was first pointed out by AKA’s brother Stefan. Nadia then also shared a tweet about the matter.

And now social media users have mocked the rapper who they say has no right to be angered because she was “just a girlfriend”.On Monday this week, the Megacy was all riled up after learning that clothing brand Amakipkip designed AKA tribute T-shirts without consulting the late rapper’s family.

AKA’s brother Stefan broke the news after heading to Instagram to call the brand out.

“No shame amakipkipstore,” he wrote on IG stories.

While most of the Megacy were left all hot and bothered over the matter and stood firm with Nadia, not everyone thought she had a right to be as upset as she was.

According to a number of tweeps, she was merely his girlfriend and shouldn’t have a say in these matters.

“Relax, you’re not part of the family!! You were just an Ordinary Girlfriend,” one person commented.

Another wrote, “ so ema nyana Ausi ……you were just a gf nje ……@nadia_nakai focus on ur career like other girls otlogele go phapha”

“ So you wanted to give consent as well,” a third added.

Meanwhile AmaKipKip has since issued an apology to the Forbes family and will be discontinuing the sale of the t-shirts.
