The broadcasting community mourns the sudden passing of esteemed radio journalist Bobby Serame, who succumbed to a brief illness at the age of 52. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) before joining Mahikeng FM in 2022, Bobby was widely revered for his dedication to his craft.


 

 

Remembered fondly by his sister, Mpho Moeti, as the family’s beloved comedian, Bobby’s infectious zest for life endeared him to all who crossed his path. “He lit up the room as soon as he walked in,” Mpho recalled, highlighting the charismatic and uplifting spirit that defined Bobby’s character.

The news of his sudden illness on Wednesday came as a shock to his loved ones, prompting his admission to Mahikeng Provincial Hospital, where he ultimately breathed his last on Thursday 20 July. Bobby Serame’s untimely departure leaves a void in the world of radio journalism, but his legacy as a vibrant and cherished personality will forever echo in the hearts of those he touched.
