The most talked about character in skeem saam. At first, he came across as a respectable, loyal, honest man who is devoted to his wife and kids. A family man who would do whatever it takes to protect his family but John Maputla, has shown viewers that when they said “Love them all but trust no one” they were not bluffing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No one could have imagine John Maputla, a man who is always calm can betray his wife in that manner. He once betrayed her by cheating with Charity, Katlego’s mother and things didn’t end well as they were involved in a car accident together.

Everyone symphatised with him and hoped that Meikie will forgive as no one is perfect and that he deserves a second chance because he is a wonderful man. His wife forgave him and started building their marriage again.

However, John Maputla looks like a serial cheater because an explosive truth came out that he also cheated his wife with her best friend, Mantuli and the two have a child together, Zamokuhle. This secret surely made things worse as Meikie shot Mantuli and Zamo and now she’s in prison.

Many know him as John Maputla, however, his real name is Africa Tsoai and he was born in Hebron-Graskop, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. He grew up with a very large family and studied graphic design at Rudolph College in Johannesburg.

In 1980, he received in diploma and joined Inhouse records in Randburg to pursue a sound engineering course in the year 2000.In the 1990s, he played a leading role in Sepedi drama series Mokgonyana Matswale, as well as in the Sepedi television drama Bophelo ke Semphekgo.

He is a married man and a father of four sons and daughters.
