Acclaimed South African actress Jessica Nkosi didn’t choose acting, acting chose her. Prior, she had dreams of being a lawyer, but after failing criminal law in her second year, Jessica decided to drop out altogether; a disappointment that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was then that she decided to sign up for drama and ended up graduating from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Performance degree.
Her journey is one of sheer determination and her career continues to show promise even as she continues to inspire many in South Africa. Here’s a look at Jessica Nkosi’s biography.
Jessica Nkosi was born on January 20, 1990, and is currently 31 years old. Jessica grew up in KwaZulu-Natal’s Empangeni community. She was very close to her parents, Jabu Nkosi and Nhlanhlayethu Ntuli. Unfortunately, Jessica’s father died when she was in Grade 11 from Hodgkin’s disease – a rare form of cancer.
Jessica Nkosi Career
Less than a year after her graduation, Jessica landed a role on what would become one of South Africa’s most popular soapies. She made her debut as Qondi Ngubane on Isibaya in 2013.
That’s not all, 2015 saw the actress star in yet another soapie, Ayeye on Mzansi Magic. It was in 2017 that Jessica hosted her very first TV show, BET’s A-list, co-hosting with her fellow Isibaya co-star, Nomzamo Mbatha.
This would not be the last time we would be seeing her on our screens though. Jessica continued to appear in a plethora of shows such as Channel O Music Video Awards, V-entertainment as well as on Our Perfect Wedding as a guest presenter.
