A war has erupted between Jazz musician Simphiwe Dana and her ex -lover. This comes after she accused his ex-lover for being involved in defamatory tweet.

Simphiwe Dana wants to get to the bottom of the issue. She has opened a case in Norwood police station against her ex-fiance Leshoto Itsweng. She has a strong feeling that he was behind the controversial comments on social media. She was accused of unduly benefiting from National Lottery Commission couple months ago.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The remarks came from a twitter account named Madi Boity. The account holder claimed that the popular singer allegedly received half a million from National Lottery Commission for her company Black Carrot for a music show. An event called “Simphiwe Dana symphony Experience”which was held at the state theater in Pretoria back in 2019, 7 ,December.

When Dana saw the social media comments he went straight to the police. According to the statement seen by a source she suspect his ex-fiance to be behind the remarks. Dana claims that her ex-lover has been trying to blackmail her for quite sometime now after they went their separate ways.

This was not the first time she opened a case against Itsweng. She once opened a case of assault against him after she had a scuffle with him which led to him “spatting” on her face and trying to suffocate her by squeezing her throat.Dana said they were planning to get married but now everything has changed. There is not turning back now.

However after the incident Itsweng opened a case. He went to the police to open a counter-case of assault against the jazz singer. who was arrested and later on released when NPA dismissed the case due to lack of evidence.

Police Spokesperson in Gauteng province Mavela Masondo confirmed that the popular singer has opened a case of defamation of character against her ex-lover.
